Configuring your Organizer App

Initial Configuration Settings

When you are first configuring your mobile organizer app, you have three initial settings you will need to define:

  • Application Name - the name you assign to this specific app (initially set when you create a new app, but can be edited at a later point)
  • Event App Code - the phrase or code used by your team members when first opening the app from their iOS or Android device (initially set when you create a new app, but can be edited at a later point).

Install URLs and QR Codes

The organizer app will display both installation URLs and QR codes for just HTML5, or for all three versions (which includes iOS and Android apps). These URLs and QR codes can be shared in communications or printed materials to provide a quick way to install the Mobile Organizer App. Please note the following recommendations:

  • HTML5 allows the Organizer App to be installed on any platform via a web URL.
  • For iOS and Android Apps, clicking on this URL will direct your team to the appropriate App Store on their device, and display the Mobile Attendee App from EventsAir for installation. (It is useful to note that your team are able to simply visit the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, and search for "Centium Organizer App" to find the version of the app for their device.) Using the native iOS or Android apps allows for advanced features, like push notifications, and barcode scanning via camera.

Additional Settings

Once your Organizer App is designed in the Builder, you next need to configure various details for your app. Configurable items in the Details Tab include:

  • Availability - set the start and end dates that the Organizer App will be visible to your organizers
  • Page Header Background Color - select your desired color here
  • Page Header Image - insert your custom header (320x45 pixels) here
  • App Icon - if you create a custom icon (144x144 pixels) it will be placed on the desktop of the device the app is loaded on, instead of the default EventsAir icon
  • Sign In Heading and Instructions - change the default heading and login instructions here
  • Username (Label) -  assign the user name button label here
  • Password Label - change the default password label here
  • Sign In Button (Label) - change the default login button text here
  • Navigation Options - define one of three navigation formats:
    • Icons on Desktop (default)
    • Slider Bar on Bottom of App
    • Menu Bar
  • Allow Sign In - allows you to define who is able to sign in to the app with their username and password:
    • EventsAir Users - only EventsAir users assigned access to the Organizer App may log in
    • Team Members - as defined in Project or Runsheet team member settings. There is a check box that provides access to Organizer Apps
  • Analytics View - if you are integrating Google Analytics, you can assign this specific mobile app to be tracked individually
Tip: If you are using native iOS and Android versions of the app, you can also track the native app usage with Google Analytics. You can use the same Google Analytics account to track them all, and even break the data down into the separate versions inside Google Analytics by creating separate views.

Messages

Enter your default messages for "App is not yet open" and "App is Closed" here.

Localization

All global Localization settings for Language are configured in Application Setup, Language. Open the App Store tab, and select the App you are working with. Note that changes made in Application Setup will affect all events. However, you can still make unique local changes for each mobile app in the Details section.

  • Override App Default Language - tick to enable this feature
  • Base Language - choose the language for this Portal
  • Search - to speed up finding a text string in the list, you can filter the list with the Search field
  • Original - the original text string
  • Language Override - enter the text for the Language you want. This will default to the setting from Language Setup for this app, but you can also change it here if you need a special text string unique to this app.
